Hi lovelies!
So even though it's too late to do this for the 4th of July, the Olympics are right around the corner, so what better way to show your country pride then by making these awesome "do it yourself" denim american flag shorts!
It's super easy and actually doesn't take that long either! So if you have nothing to do this weekend, make these fabulous american flag shorts!
There are so many ways to make these shorts but I chose a way that wasn't messy and ensured that my shorts wouldn't fade. It took me about an hour but it was easy and super fun!
Materials needed:
-american flag bandana/small flags
-scissors
-needle
-thread
-pins
-paper/pen
-studs (optional)
First, I found a cute pair of denim shorts. (pictured below, vintage sophie&trey shorts)
Second, I took my piece of paper and put it over the part of my shorts that I wanted to have the flag on and I traced the part I wanted covered with my pen. Then I cut it out.
Third, I took my cut out of my short leg and traced it onto my bandana. Then I cut that out as well.
Fourth, I turned my shorts inside out and started sewing my bandana to the actual shorts.
Fifth, I turned the shorts back right side out and I did the same process for the back of my shorts on one of the pockets as I did the front of my shorts. Then I sewed the bandana to the pocket.
Lastly, I added a cute little touch to both sides of my shorts by gluing on little studs I found at JoAnn's.
And vuala! You now have a fashionable Olympic games outfit;)
